1 Cor 7:1-5 (KJV) --
1 Now concerning the things whereof ye wrote unto me:
It is good for a man not to touch a woman.
2 Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man
have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband.
3 Let the husband render unto the wife due benevolence (#2133): and likewise also
the wife unto the husband.
4 The wife hath not power (#1850) of her own body, but
the husband: and likewise also the husband hath not power of his own body, but
the wife.
5 Defraud (650) ye not one the other, except it be with
consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come
together again, that Satan tempt you not for your incontinency.

Comment: God
considers sex is an important marital duty (Greek: eunoia’ conjugal duty, benevolence) that is meant to be a kindness in
marriage. God created sex to be a good thing for marriage. It is not sinful or a
dirty act that God forgives in order to produce babies. Babies are an added
blessing. Sex was originally created to be a duty of kindness ordained by God
to be enjoyed in marriage — because God originally said “the two shall become
one flesh” (Genesis 2:24). According to the
New Testament verse, 1 Corinthians 6:16, "one flesh" is understood to mean
sexual intercourse. Therefore, sexual intercourse
in marriage is a special blessing and a conjugal duty of kindness (benevolence)
that helps hold marriages together by reducing the temptation to commit
adultery.
